Description

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is seeking a commercial methane gas analyzer. The analyzer should be similar to the Aeris Technologies MIRA Ultra, with features such as mid-infrared absorption technology, high-precision measurement capability, and near real-time automated data transmission. The device should be portable, lightweight, and compatible with a Nafion dryer, external pump, and flow control. The delivery location is Boulder, CO, and the delivery time is 60 days after receipt of the order. • The analyzer should utilize mid-infrared absorption (MIRA) technology for trace gas monitoring. • It should have a highly portable, lightweight form factor suitable for benchtop, mobile laboratory, tower, or drone/aircraft deployments. • The analyzer should have high-precision, parts-per-billion (ppb) measurement capability for Methane (CH4) and Ethane (C2H6) dry mole fractions to distinguish between biogenic and thermogenic sources. • It should include or seamlessly integrate with a Nafion dryer (for moisture correction), external pump, and flow control. • The analyzer should have near real-time automated data transmission capabilities. • The measurement precision should be 1 ppb for CH4 in one second at approximately 2000 ppb CH4. • The data output should be available via ethernet port or USB connection. • The size of the optical component (temperature-controlled cell and detector) should be no larger than 7” x 8” x 5” (not including associated electronics and gas handling components). • The power consumption should be less than 25W at steady state. • The analyzer should be compatible in size, power, and electrical and data connections with the Aeris MIRA Ultra portable gas analyzer.

Budget estimate

$10,000 – $50,000

Given the information provided in the document, it is difficult to estimate the exact budget for this opportunity. However, considering that the solicitation is for a single methane gas analyzer, the budget is likely to be relatively low, possibly in the range of $10,000 to $50,000. The actual budget will depend on the specifications and brand of the analyzer, as well as the vendor's pricing. The budget may also be influenced by factors such as the complexity of the analyzer, the delivery time, and the vendor's reputation.
