Description
The City of San Antonio, through its Aviation Department, is seeking a vendor to supply, deliver, install, and commission Vehicle Movement Area Transmitters (VMATs) at San Antonio International Airport. The work includes a site survey of the airport’s operations, maintenance, and aircraft rescue and firefighting vehicles, design of antenna placement, cabling, power connections, and the physical installation of permanent VMAT units to provide real‑time location data for ground vehicles, thereby improving runway and taxiway safety. The solicitation has been extended to a submission deadline of 21 Oct 2026. Interested firms must be registered in the SAePS portal and may subcontract equipment supply to an OEM‑authorized partner.
• Supply and installation of VMAT hardware on designated airport vehicles.
• Perform a detailed survey and engineering design for optimal antenna placement and integration.
• Commission, test, and certify the system for operational use.
• Must be capable of acting as prime contractor or coordinate with OEM‑authorized subcontractors for equipment and warranty services.
