Request for Pre-Qualification Laser Intrusion Detection System

The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) is soliciting Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) from bidders with construction expertise to furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment, services, supervision, and incidentals necessary to procure and replace/upgrade the laser intrusion detection systems (LIDS) on elevated guideways and tunnels. The project requires the contractor to have experience with installing field monitoring equipment, fiber optic installation, and integrating field devices with existing communication systems. The contractor must also have a valid and current California Contractor’s license, liability insurance, and workers’ compensation insurance. • The project involves replacing/upgrading laser intrusion detection systems on elevated guideways and tunnels. • The contractor must have experience with safety critical technology installations along trackways, transportation corridors, or comparable constrained environments. • The contractor must have a California contractor’s license, classification Class A (General Engineering) certification to bid on this project. • The project is expected to be advertised at the beginning of January 2026 with bid opening at the end of January 2026. • The estimated time for construction completion of the project is 275 calendar days.
