Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) intends to award a sole source contract for temporary boiler rental and maintenance services for the VA Western Colorado Healthcare System in Grand Junction, Colorado. The contract will include the rental of two mobile boilers and one control room trailer, as well as preventive maintenance, repair, and testing services. The contractor will be required to provide certified technicians to perform the work and to coordinate with the VA's Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) to ensure that the work is done efficiently and with minimal disruption to the healthcare facility. The contractor will also be required to provide detailed reports and to follow all VA Medical Center requirements concerning lockout/tagout procedures, hazardous waste removal, and patient confidentiality.
• The contract will be for a period of six months, with the option to extend for an additional six months.
• The contractor will be required to provide a single phone number for emergency repairs and to respond to emergency calls within two hours.
• The contractor will be required to provide all transportation, labor, tools, equipment, and materials to accomplish the testing requirements.
• The contractor will be required to follow all WCHCS guidance on patient confidentiality and to take photographs only with the permission of the COR.
• The contractor will be required to attend site orientation prior to work on the station and to wear a VA-issued ID badge while on campus.
