Cayucos Pier Reconstruction Design Services

The County of San Luis Obispo is seeking design services for the reconstruction of the Cayucos Pier, which was damaged in winter storms in 2024. The project aims to restore the pier to its pre-2024 condition. The scope of work includes project management, preliminary design report, 60% design, 100% design, engineering support during bidding and construction, and optional geotechnical investigation. The contract will be for a term of 3 years, and the County reserves the right to request additional services. • The project will involve the replacement of the pier in-kind between bents 60 and 61, except for the piles at bent 61, which will be replaced with steel pipe piles. • The design will implement recommendations from the September 2024 Condition Assessment Report, including retrofitting connections and replacing battered pile head treatments. • The consultant will provide a preliminary design report, 60% design, and 100% design, and will support the County during bidding and construction. • The project is expected to be completed in summer 2027.
