On June 8 2026 the Richmond City Council adopted Ordinance No 2025282 amending Chapter 26 Article V Division 2 of the City Code by adding Section 26370 The ordinance establishes a real estate tax deferral program for qualified owneroccupied residential properties authorized under Code of Virginia 5813219 et seq effective for tax years commencing on or after January 1 2028The City of Richmond Department of Finance is soliciting proposals for the development of an implementation plan for a new real estate tax deferral program which will launch in January 2028Please go to httpsprocurementopengovcomportalrvaprojects294398
