Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking information from sources that may be capable of providing an in-situ electrochemical liquid cell with heating and cooling for use in both transmission electron microscopes (TEM) and X-ray scattering beamline instruments. The system should be compatible with Thermo Fisher Scientific (FEI) TEMs and include a three-electrode configuration with working, counter, and reference electrodes. The system should also have integrated temperature control capability and be able to provide real-time operando monitoring of electrochemical processes. Some key requirements of the system include: • Compatibility with Thermo Fisher Scientific (FEI) TEMs • Three-electrode configuration with working, counter, and reference electrodes • Integrated temperature control capability • Real-time operando monitoring of electrochemical processes • Compatibility with in-situ EELS, STEM imaging, and X-ray scattering modalities • A fluid delivery system for solution exchange control and gaseous product removal The contractor shall provide a complete system, including the holder, controller, software, electrical interface, fluidics, and a starter set of consumables. The contractor shall also provide a lifetime license for the full activation of three-dimensional sample-TEM-detector stabilization and parameter synchronization.

Budget estimate

$500,000 – $2,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate, as the document does not provide a specific budget or price range. However, based on the complexity of the system and the requirements listed, it is likely that the budget will be in the range of $500,000 to $2,000,000. This estimate is based on the assumption that the system will require significant research and development, as well as the manufacture and delivery of a complex piece of equipment. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the complexity of the system, the requirements for compatibility with specific TEMs and X-ray scattering beamline instruments, and the need for real-time operando monitoring of electrochemical processes.
