Pharmacy Benefits Management Services

Nueces County is seeking a qualified firm to provide Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) services. The selected firm will be responsible for administering and managing all aspects of the pharmacy benefit program, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws and regulations, and maintaining high standards of service quality and clinical effectiveness. The contract will be for an initial term of one year, with the option to renew for additional one-year increments. The firm must demonstrate experience in delivering transparent, compliant, and cost-effective PBM services, and must submit qualifications and a proposal that address the requirements outlined in the RFP. Some key aspects of the project include: • Administering pharmacy benefits, either stand-alone or integrated with the medical plan • Managing formulary design, prior authorization, specialty pharmacy coordination, and mail-order options • Providing member support tools, including cost comparison and preferred pharmacy locators • Supplying quarterly rebate reconciliation and utilization reporting • Ensuring compliance with drug pricing transparency and rebate reporting laws • Offering coordination with the County's wellness and chronic-condition programs The County is looking for a firm that can provide innovative administration, technology, and service excellence to deliver cost-efficient and high-quality health benefits to its employees.
