S201--Janitorial Services Base Plus 2 Years

The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a contractor to provide janitorial services for the Salisbury VA Medical Center. The contract will be for a base period of 2 years, with a firm fixed price. The contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary equipment, supplies, and personnel to perform the required services. The services will include daily, weekly, and quarterly cleaning tasks, as well as specialty janitorial services such as carpet shampooing and floor stripping. The contractor will be required to comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and VA policies, including those related to infection control, safety, and security. Some key tasks and their frequencies include: * Emptying waste cans and re-lining them daily * Cleaning patient restrooms mid-day daily * Cleaning public restrooms daily * Checking and refilling paper towel, toilet paper, and soap dispensers daily * Spot cleaning furniture as needed * Buffing all tile floors quarterly or as needed * Dusting all horizontal and vertical surfaces daily or as needed * Cleaning and organizing all housekeeping closets daily * Cleaning and sanitizing all bathrooms utilizing a germicidal disinfectant daily * Vacuuming carpets, entrance mats, and runners daily * Polishing all stainless steel weekly * Covering all bed discharges, which includes cleaning and re-making beds, as requested * Staging and storage of both clean and soiled linen, which includes washing of bed sheets, as needed * Stripping and re-finishing all tile floors yearly or as needed * Shampooing/extracting carpets quarterly or as needed * Interior window cleaning weekly or spot cleaning as needed * Hard surface cleaning daily or as needed * Changing curtains quarterly or as needed * Unoccupied room cleaning weekly * Scrubbing tunnels with a scrubber daily * Carpet maintenance, including vacuuming, spot cleaning, and deep steam cleaning, as needed * Door and doorjamb cleaning, including spot cleaning and polishing, as needed * Duct, light fixture, vent, and louver cleaning, as needed * Elevator cleaning, including all interior surfaces, as needed * Entrance area cleaning, including sweeping, cleaning walk-off mats, and removing standing water, as needed * Floor maintenance, including stripping, waxing, and buffing, as needed * Furniture and flat surface cleaning, including dusting and damp-dusting, as needed * Door cleaning, including glass partitions, interior glass doors, and display cases, as needed * Stairwell cleaning, including sweeping, dusting, and damp-mopping, as needed * Wall cleaning, including spot-cleaning and washing, as needed * Venetian blind cleaning, including vacuuming and damp-cleaning, as needed * Window cleaning, including interior and exterior surfaces, as needed * Laundry service, including collecting soiled linen, washing, and re-stocking clean linen, as needed * Bed and exam table cleaning, including cleaning and sanitizing all surfaces, as needed * Tray table and bedside table cleaning, including cleaning and sanitizing all surfaces, as needed * Dining room, kitchen, and canteen cleaning, including cleaning all surfaces, as needed * VCS cafeteria and dining room cleaning, including tasks such as dusting, wiping, and scrubbing, as needed.
