RFP 21-26: Vertical Transportation Maintenance

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) is seeking a qualified contractor to maintain and repair its vertical transportation assets, including elevators and escalators. The contract will cover over 230 elevators and 170 escalators in the greater Boston metropolitan area. The contractor will provide repairs, callbacks, preventive maintenance, inspections, and other services to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the equipment. The contract term will be five years, with two one-year option terms at the MBTA's discretion. • The contractor must have experience and expertise in elevator and escalator maintenance and repair. • The contractor must have a robust supply chain for common parts and materials. • The contractor must have resources to ensure maximum performance, including a goal of 100% escalator availability and 100% elevator uptime. • The contractor must comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including those related to safety, labor, and environmental protection. • The contractor must provide a detailed proposal, including a technical specification, pricing, and other required information.
