Description

The City of Pasadena is seeking information from qualified firms to support initial Photovoltaic Solar or Solar and Energy Storage system feasibility assessments for selected City-owned facilities. The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to gather information regarding consultant capabilities, technical approaches, estimated costs, implementation strategies, and available technologies related to Solar and Hybrid systems to support informed decision-making prior to committing to contracts or equipment purchases. Some key aspects of the project include: • Initial site evaluations and feasibility assessments • Solar resource capacity potential • Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) resource potential • System design assessment including preliminary equipment recommendations • Financial modeling and cost estimates • Operations and maintenance (O&M) The City has selected twenty-one municipal facilities to evaluate for Solar or Hybrid system installations, and respondents may submit information for one, multiple, or all sites.

Budget estimate

$5,000,000 – $20,000,000

The budget for this project is difficult to estimate as the RFI does not provide specific information on the budget or the scope of work. However, based on the fact that the City is seeking information for solar and energy storage feasibility assessments across twenty-one municipal facilities, the project could potentially be worth millions of dollars. The cost of the project will depend on various factors such as the size and complexity of the solar and energy storage systems, the number of facilities that will be equipped with these systems, and the cost of equipment and labor. A rough estimate for the project could be between $5 million and $20 million, considering the scope of work and the number of facilities involved.
