The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking a vector network analyzer for spectroscopically characterizing the microwave characteristics of microwave resonators used for controlling the spin degree of freedom for spin defect qubits in wide-bandgap semiconductors like diamond. The analyzer should meet or exceed the minimum requirements specified in the solicitation, including having 2 or more test ports, specific connectors, and a frequency range of 10 kHz to 26 GHz or wider. The contractor shall provide a firm-fixed-price quotation for all line items listed in the solicitation.
• The vector network analyzer should have a front panel and screen for stand-alone usage without the need for an external PC.
• The analyzer should have a USB and/or Ethernet connection for data transfer and remote unit control.
• The contractor should provide flexible precision cables (2) with 50 ohm, approximately 1 meter in length, and good impedance and phase stability across the full instrument measurement range.
• The analyzer should have an automatic electronic calibration unit covering the full test frequency range.
• The contractor should deliver the analyzer to the National Institute of Standards and Technology, 100 Bureau Drive, Building 217, Gaithersburg, MD 20899-1640.
• The government reserves the right to perform performance tests and evaluations to verify specified system performance.
