Description

This opportunity is for the NHLBI TOPMed: Omics Phenotypes of Heart, Lung, and Blood Disorders (X01 - Clinical Trial Not Allowed) program. The goal of this program is to generate a large volume of integrated genetic and multi-omics data to facilitate discovery of the molecular mechanisms of Heart, Lung, Blood, and Sleep (HLBS) disorders. The program will utilize the X01 activity code and will not provide funding. Instead, it will allow investigators to use NHLBI-funded TransOmics for Precision Medicine (TOPMed) program to generate data. The data will be deposited in a public NIH-designated controlled-access database. • The program aims to move from simply cataloging genetic associations to understanding how genetic factors contribute to HLBS diseases at the molecular and cellular levels. • The program will enable functional genomics research that will accelerate mechanistic personalized medicine. • The program will utilize AI and ML tool sets where possible. • The program is open to various types of applicants, including public and private institutions of higher education, non-profits, and small businesses.
