GSU - Sports Arena - Replace Chillers

Georgia State University is soliciting Statements of Qualifications from Mechanical Contracting firms for the replacement of two chillers at the Sports Arena. The project involves replacing the existing chillers with new magnetic bearing chillers, along with new cooling towers and pumps. The delivery method for this project will be design-bid-build. The Stated Cost Limitation for this project is $985,000. • The project is subject to the Georgia Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Construction Act of 2008. • The Mechanical Contractor will be responsible for methods of construction, safety, and the scheduling and coordination of the work of all construction and miscellaneous contracts required for completion of the project. • The project requires a commitment to safety with regard to Worker’s Compensation by having an Experience Modification Rate (EMR) of 1.2 or less. • The project involves replacing the two existing chillers at the Sports Arena with new magnetic bearing chillers, along with new cooling towers and pumps.
