Description
The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) is seeking to award a sole source contract to CRU International Ltd. for global steel and aluminum monitoring services. The contract will provide the DOC with access to a subscription-based online database that contains detailed plant-level information on steel, aluminum, and copper production in specific facilities, companies, and countries. The database will include cost drivers, production numbers, power usage, ownership information, and technical parameters, allowing the DOC to analyze U.S. facilities compared to other global facilities. The contract will also provide the DOC with an asset platform to compare assets, companies, and value chains on a like-for-like basis.

• Enterprise-wide subscription with unlimited access to ITA employees
• Online access with no need to download vendor software
• Direct access to the platform without the need for customer service representatives
• Unique monthly crude steel production data
• Plant-level production data, including capacity, equipment information, cost information, operator and owner company names, employment figures, and equity shares
• Data reviewed and updated quarterly by the vendor
• Capability to export data to statistical software, such as Excel and PowerBI
• Asset platform to compare assets, companies, and value chains on a like-for-like basis
• Visibility and functionality to create interactive graphs and tables on a digital platform
• Ability to generate comparative insights with a dual perspective on costs and emissions
• Access to vendor expert analysts for assistance with interpreting data and dynamics of local markets
• Help Desk for customer support and technical assistance
