Railroad Signal Equipment Testing, Maintenance and Repair Services

The City of Columbia is seeking a contractor to provide testing, maintenance, and repair services for its railroad signal equipment and active warning system. The contractor will be responsible for ensuring the warning system and its component parts are maintained in a condition to perform their intended function. The contractor will also be required to provide personnel with sufficient training and experience in testing, maintaining, and repairing railroad signal equipment. The contract period will be for one year, with the option to renew for up to four additional years. • The contractor will be required to provide monthly tests and inspections, including ground tests, standby power tests, and inspections of flashing light units and gate arms. • The contractor will also be required to provide quarterly tests and inspections, including tests of cut-out circuits and inspections of insulated rail joints and bond wires. • The contractor will be required to provide yearly tests and inspections, including tests of flashing light units and gate arms. • The contractor will be required to provide emergency repair services in the event of a signal failure. • The contractor will be required to attend inspections of the City's signal devices by FRA or Missouri inspectors or authorities.
