The National Park Service is providing public notice of its intention to award a task agreement under a previously competed or single source master cooperative agreement. The project involves providing visitor services interns for the Manzanar National Historic Site. The interns will work collaboratively with National Park Service interpretation staff to maintain and update exhibits, provide information to visitors, and assist with the Junior Ranger program and other educational activities. The project aims to support the Government's objective to provide opportunities for youth to learn about the environment by spending time working on projects in National Parks.
Some key aspects of the project include:
• Providing support to address deferred/cyclic maintenance of interpretive exhibits/media displays for the general public
• Increasing accessibility of interpretive media by working with interpretation staff to create Audio Description of exhibits
• Assisting the visiting public by providing information about Manzanar
• Helping with digitizing historic resources, such as scanning loaned or donated archives and photographs
• Providing support to NPS staff to research, write, and develop a FLREA-funded Manzanar Park App
