Incarcerated Individual Commissary Services and Food Service

The County of Dutchess is seeking a vendor to provide commissary services and food service operations for the incarcerated individual population at the Dutchess County Jail. The vendor will be responsible for providing three meals per day, seven days a week, and must meet the requirements of the New York State Commission of Corrections and the American Correctional Association. The vendor will also be required to provide a cohesive approach to commissary operations and food service delivery under a unified management structure. Some key responsibilities include: providing an accurate and efficient means to process commissary orders, providing a reasonable commission back to the Dutchess County Jail for all commissary sales, and furnishing all materials, labor, and equipment necessary to operate an electronic, computer-based commissary operation system. • The contract will be for a period of one year, with the option to renew for up to four additional one-year terms. • The vendor will be required to provide weekly financial reports for audit purposes. • The vendor will be required to have a functional toll-free number for technical support. • The vendor will be required to provide a daily report on incarcerated individual transactions. • The vendor will be required to provide a commission rate for each year of the contract. • The vendor will be required to pay commission to the inmate welfare account or other designated account on a weekly basis.
