Cleaning & Maintenance of Shipboard Exhaust and Ventilation Systems

The United States Coast Guard is seeking a contractor to provide cleaning and maintenance services for shipboard exhaust and ventilation systems at USCG Base Ketchikan in Ketchikan, Alaska. The contractor will be responsible for cleaning the main diesel engine exhaust piping, ship service diesel generator exhaust piping, and vent ducts, as well as performing operational tests and inspections. The contractor must provide a firm-fixed price for each work item and must meet the performance schedule prescribed in the Statement of Work. The evaluation criteria for this acquisition are best value, ability to meet the performance schedule, and past experience with similar or more complex requirements. Some key points to consider are: • The contractor must provide adequate temporary ventilation to each compartment affected by the cleaning work. • The contractor must mark the positions of all dampers and air-directional mechanical devices within the vent system before cleaning and return the settings to their marked positions upon completion. • The contractor must accomplish an operational test of the cleaned ventilation system to prove satisfactory operating condition. • The contractor must provide a capability document showing past experience on performing similar services on similar or more complex vessel systems.
