Description

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to negotiate and award a contract without providing for full and open competition to Life Technologies Corporation for whole exome analysis of NIAAA Clinical Center patients. The analysis has previously been performed on over 2000 patients using the AmpliSeq Exome enrichment system and sequenced on the ION sequencing platform. The use of a single enrichment and sequencing platform with consistent information content is essential for analysis of samples screened at different times. • The contract is for whole exome analysis of NIAAA Clinical Center patients. • The analysis has previously been performed on over 2000 patients. • The AmpliSeq Exome enrichment system and ION sequencing platform will be used. • The contract is a non-competitive sole source contract. • The contract will be awarded to Life Technologies Corporation.

Budget estimate

$200,000 – $400,000

The budget for this contract is likely to be around $350,000, which is the simplified acquisition threshold. This estimate is based on the fact that the contract is a non-competitive sole source contract and the NIH is seeking a contractor for whole exome analysis of NIAAA Clinical Center patients. The actual budget may be higher or lower, depending on the specific requirements of the contract and the capabilities of the contractor. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the complexity of the analysis, the number of patients to be analyzed, and the cost of the AmpliSeq Exome enrichment system and ION sequencing platform.
