Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife is seeking a qualified contractor to collect, test, and dispose of hazardous waste generated by its Wildlife Health Laboratory. The work includes handling formalin‑based biological waste, a variety of chemical waste, and several unknown waste containers, all to be transported and incinerated in compliance with state and federal regulations. The contract will run until March 31 2027, with a single‑site operation in Sacramento and limited subcontracting allowed only for off‑site laboratory analysis.
• Collect up to nine 55‑gallon drums of formalin waste containing tissues and organs.
• Collect ~23 L of mixed chemical waste (ethanol, xylene, acetone, etc.).
• Collect and test one 55‑gallon drum, one 25‑gallon drum, and one 750‑ml bottle of unknown waste.
• Provide disposal/incineration services, maintain required permits (motor‑carrier, hazardous‑waste transporter, EPA ID) and insurance, and use on‑site forklifts/pallet jacks as needed.
