IN REM TAX FORECLOSURE SPECIAL LEGAL COUNSEL

The City of East Orange is seeking a qualified legal counsel to provide In Rem Tax Foreclosure Special Legal Counsel services. The selected counsel will be required to provide representation in various matters, including prosecuting and defending municipal tax foreclosure matters before the Superior Court of New Jersey and the United States Bankruptcy Court. The counsel will have a close working relationship with the City's Office of Corporation Counsel. • The scope of services includes providing legal counsel and representation in tax foreclosure matters • The counsel will be required to attend meetings and provide other types of legal services as needed • The City is looking for a counsel with expertise in municipal tax foreclosure law and experience in representing municipalities in similar matters • The selected counsel will be required to comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including those related to affirmative action and equal employment opportunity • The contract term is for one year, with the option to extend for an additional year
