Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) VISN 7 is conducting market research to identify qualified contractors that can supply blood, blood components, and related testing services to VA medical facilities in Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina. The eventual contract will be a five‑year, firm‑fixed‑price, indefinite‑delivery/indefinite‑quantity (IDIQ) vehicle, with performance beginning 01 June 2026 and ending 31 May 2031. Contractors must provide 100 % volunteer‑donor blood, meet FDA and AABB standards, support 24/7/365 delivery (routine, ASAP, STAT), and offer consultative and educational services. The solicitation is a Sources‑Sought/RFI; responses are due 03 September 2026.
• Supplies: whole blood, red cells, plasma, platelets, cryoprecipitate, and related testing (immunohematology, HLA, molecular).
• Delivery: routine (24 hr), ASAP (≤4 hr), STAT (≤90 min); multiple daily deliveries per facility.
• Geographic scope: VA facilities in AL, GA, SC (e.g., Atlanta VA, Birmingham VA, etc.).
• Contract type: 5‑year IDIQ, firm‑fixed‑price, with annual pricing periods.
• Mandatory certifications: FDA registration, CLIA certification, ASCP‑board‑certified personnel.
• Additional requirements: donor‑list management, recall procedures, HIPAA/VA privacy compliance, 24/7 service availability, physician consults and education.
