Road Commission of Kalamazoo County (RCKC) is seeking qualified contractors to provide comprehensive tree‑removal, stump‑grinding, and site‑restoration services funded by the Federal Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) grant. The work is performed along county‑maintained road right‑of‑way across multiple sections, requiring compliance with federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations, including protection of the Eastern Massasauga Rattlesnake and other listed species. Bidders must submit detailed proposals electronically by the deadline and attend a mandatory pre‑bid meeting.
• Remove trees of various diameters (3‑17 in. up to 70 in. + DBH) as marked by RCKC and chip brush < 3 in.; submit weekly work‑completion lists.
• Grind stumps (total ≈ 14,400) to 4‑6 in. below grade, restore the site, and apply approved herbicide where required; all work must be completed within defined seasonal windows.
• Provide all required certifications (ISA Certified Arborist, MDARD pesticide applicator, EHAP line‑clearance) and maintain Davis‑Bacon prevailing‑wage payroll reporting.
