Transmission Main Replacement and Repair Services

The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) is seeking a contractor to provide transmission main replacement and repair services. The scope of work includes excavation and replacement of 16” and greater transmission mains, including prestressed concrete cylinder pipe (PCCP), ductile iron pipe (DIP), cast iron pipe (CIP), and steel sections. The contractor must have experience in installing large diameter water mains and must meet minimum qualifications, including having a safety plan and providing evidence of an OSHA Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) of less than 2.67 for each of the last three years. Some key points to consider: • The contractor must have at least five years of experience with projects similar in size and scope. • The contractor must have a minimum of five references for comparable work. • The contractor must provide proof of Commercially Useful Function for any MBE or SLBE subcontractors or suppliers. • The contractor must submit a bid bond and provide insurance documents. • The contractor must comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including those related to traffic control, erosion and sediment control, and plumbing.
