The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) is holding a special auction, officially referred to as an “excess auction,” for licenses that have not received bids during a previous auction. The licenses being auctioned are expired restaurant liquor licenses that can be transferred to a different location within the same municipality, a different municipality within the same county, or a different county. The bid amount must be at least $25,000, and the selected bidder will have the opportunity to file a transfer application with the PLCB’s Bureau of Licensing. The transfer application will be processed in the same manner as any other transfer application and will be subject to the same restrictions.
