Description
New Braunfels Utilities is seeking a qualified engineering firm to provide Construction Management and Inspection Services for the Water and Wastewater Capital Improvement Plan and development team. The selected firm will be responsible for program administration of CMIS, construction management, and construction inspection for water and wastewater engineering projects. The services will include managing scope, cost, and staff resources for each project, providing oversight of construction managers and inspectors, and maintaining an electronic project management information system. The firm must hold all licenses and certifications in the state of Texas to perform all applicable professional services and comply with all governing professional ethics rules. Key personnel must have experience and expertise in providing similar services, and the firm must demonstrate its capability to complete the project.
Some of the key responsibilities of the selected firm include:
• Acting as the main point of contact for communication with the CIP and development team
• Coordinating with NBU staff to convey the status of the overall performance of CMIS
• Managing scope, cost, and staff resources for each NBU project requiring CMIS
• Providing oversight of the construction manager and inspector
• Maintaining an electronic project management information system for document management of construction projects
• Providing construction management services, including attending pre-construction conferences, conducting periodic progress meetings, and evaluating the construction contractor's submittals
• Providing construction inspection services, including augmenting existing NBU staff with construction inspection for CIP and development projects, acting as NBU's first line of communication on-site, and ensuring that construction is proceeding in conformance with the construction contract, plans, and specifications
