Description
The Air Force is soliciting a sole source purchase order for a Medium Pressure Water Jet Stripping Machine. The machine will be used for stripping masking off of Integrated Blade Rotors (IBRs) for Cubic Boron Nitride (CBN) repairs. The procurement will be awarded to Progressive Surface, Inc., as they are the only company that meets all required specifications and does not cause the Government significant duplication of effort.
The key features of the machine include:
• A 6-axis robotic arm
• A 20,000 psi water jet system
• An enclosure
• A controls cabinet
• A water jet nozzle
• A filter housing
• A hoist
• Mist collectors
• Intensifiers
The machine will be used for stripping Dymax maskings off of blades during the CBN application process. The estimated contract cost is $10,000,000.
