UMass Amherst IT Services Assessment RFP

The University of Massachusetts System is seeking a qualified supplier to provide IT services assessment for the UMass Amherst campus. The selected vendor will conduct a comprehensive assessment of IT services provided by historically distributed IT units on campus and by UMass IT. The primary objectives of this engagement are to identify current IT functions and services, assess high-level per-function/service risks, recommend per-function/service risk mitigations/resolutions, and estimate costs and effort required. The vendor will also provide optimization recommendations for function/service delivery under the campus OneIT model. Key aspects of the job include: • Conducting interviews with IT units to identify and document IT functions and services • Providing a rough estimate of IT staff time dedicated to supporting each function/service • Performing risk assessments and developing recommended solutions for mitigating risks • Estimating direct costs and people-time commitment required to implement each risk-based recommendation • Identifying role and responsibility gaps related to discovered functions/services under the current OneIT staffing structure
