The Bureau of Reclamation is seeking services for the design and construction of river realignment in the Lower San Acacia Reach of the Middle Rio Grande. The project involves a design-build contract for the design and construction of a new river channel alignment, major earthwork, excavation, cut/fill, grading, and channel shaping. The selected contractor will be responsible for advancing the design to 100% and performing all construction and post-construction services. The project supports Reclamation's goals to improve conveyance and water delivery, enhance sediment management and channel stability, increase floodplain inundation, and reduce river drying.
Some key aspects of the project include:
• River realignment and construction of a new river channel alignment
• Major earthwork, excavation, cut/fill, grading, and channel shaping
• Installation of riprap, erosion protection, and a flow control structure
• Water diversion and management during construction
• Environmental and cultural compliance support, permitting, and monitoring
• Vegetation restoration, seeding, live plantings, and 36-month revegetation monitoring
• Post-construction acceptance testing, as-built documentation, and training for Reclamation staff
