The City of Tucson, Department of Procurement, sought to establish a contract for the purchase and installation of an Ultra High Liquid Chromatography and Autosampler with Tandem Mass Spectrometer and Data System (LC-MS/MS). The contract was awarded to Agilent Technologies, Inc. The system is intended for the analysis of Poly and Per-fluorinated Alkyl Substances (PFAS) in drinking water samples using EPA method 537. The contract includes a warranty period and requires the contractor to provide training and support. Some key features of the system include:
* The instrument must be a benchtop model
* The instrument system must include an ion source capable of heated Electrospray Ionization (ESI) in positive and negative mode
* The LC-MS interface must provide the best technology in ion optics to increase sensitivity and ion transmission
* The system must include a built-in calibrant delivery system
* The Mass Spectrometer must be capable of performing MS/MS acquisitions
* The MS must include a collision cell (Q2) that produces efficient fragmentation for high sensitivity while guiding ions away from neutral reaction products to reduce noise.
The contract has a duration of 6 years, with the option to renew. The contractor is required to provide a warranty and support for the system, including training and maintenance.
