Elevator Inspection Services

This contract obligates Fauquier County to secure third‑party inspection, testing, and certification services for all elevators, chair‑lifts, dumbwaiters, book‑lifts and escalators owned or operated by the County and its public schools. The incumbent vendor, Dominion Elevator Inspection Services, performs routine periodic inspections, Category‑1 no‑load tests, Category‑5 full‑load tests, prepares written reports within ten business days, and issues certificates of compliance after corrective actions. The scope expressly excludes any maintenance, repair, or installation work, which remains the responsibility of the County’s internal maintenance contractors. The agreement runs for a one‑year renewal period (3 Jul 2026‑2 Jul 2027) with no additional renewal options. Key points include: • Mandatory 2‑week advance notification and 48‑hour daily schedule notice for each inspection. • All inspectors must be Virginia‑state‑certified Qualified Elevator Inspectors (QEI). • Vendor must maintain drug‑free workplace, appropriate insurance (WC, GL ≥ $1 M, etc.), and provide certificates of compliance after each inspection. • No elevator may be taken out of service overnight due to the inspection.
