The County of Riverside is seeking a Child Abuse Prevention Council (CAPC) to coordinate community efforts to prevent and respond to child maltreatment. The primary goal of the CAPC program is to prevent child maltreatment by raising community awareness and identifying family support. The target population is the Riverside County general population, with an emphasis on parents and caregivers at risk of interaction with the child welfare system. • Encourage and facilitate training of professionals in the detection, treatment, and prevention of child abuse and neglect.
• Recommend improvements in services to families and victims.
• Develop a protocol for interagency coordination and provide yearly reports to the county board of supervisors.
