001.22.B3 Fire Sprinkler Inspection, Installation, Maintenance & Repair Service

This contract is for fire sprinkler inspection, installation, maintenance, and repair services for the Howard County Public School System. The contract was awarded to three vendors: Advanced Fire Protection Systems, LLC, Johnson Controls Fire Protection LP, and Protegis Fire & Safety, LLC. The contract has a total value of up to $250,000.00 annually, depending on project needs and available funding. The contract period is for one year and is renewable for five additional one-year periods. The vendors will provide all labor, supplies, and equipment to perform contracted fire sprinkler inspection, installation, service, and repair services as required throughout the school system. • The contract requires a minimum of five years of experience with three years of experience in a school system preferred. • The vendors will alternate for each project as defined in the bid documents. • For projects estimated at $5,000.00 or higher, price proposals based on the contracted hourly rates will be obtained from the awarded contractors to ensure lowest cost. • The previous contractors were Fireguard Corp, Fireline Corp, and VSC Fire & Security. • Prior expenditures for this service were FY18 - $50,950.00, FY19 - $72,950.00, and FY20 - $198,512.00.
