The County of Riverside is seeking a segment routing system based on Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) to replace its current End-of-Life DWDM system. The system must support both Layer2 (L2VPN) and Layer3 (L3VPN) circuits and have a self-owned and managed Segment Routed system. The contract was awarded to Ciena, and the County believes that this solution aligns with its strategic objectives. Key features of the system include:
• A self-owned and managed Segment Routed system based on MPLS
• Support for both Layer2 (L2VPN) and Layer3 (L3VPN) circuits
• Connection handoffs at each site to internal departments ranging from 1Gbps to 100Gbps
• A mixture of leased Dark Fiber paths and Wave circuits
• Seven Dark Fiber links configured as 400Gbps and three at 100Gbps
• Five leased Wave circuits configured at 100Gbps.
