Composting Services

The College of Charleston has awarded a contract for composting services to Smart Recycling US LLC. The contract has a total potential value of $689,520.00 and a maximum contract period of 5 years, from December 1, 2022, to November 30, 2027. The contract includes the collection and transportation of food waste from various locations, including the College of Charleston's City Bistro, Catering Kitchen, Liberty Fresh Food Co., Marty's Place, and Stern Center, as well as MUSC Main Hospital, ART Hospital, and Institute of Psychiatry (IOP) Hospital, and The Citadel Coward Hall. The contractor is required to provide certificates of insurance coverage prior to commencing services under the contract. • The contract was awarded through an Invitation for Bid (IFB) process, with a solicitation number of 2023-CMW-000000142-IFB-T5. • The contract includes a statement of award, which serves as acceptance of the contractor's offer. • The contractor is not to perform any work prior to the receipt of a purchase order from the using governmental unit. • The College of Charleston assumes no liability for any expenses incurred prior to the effective date of the contract and issuance of a purchase order. • The contract includes a protest clause, which allows aggrieved parties to protest the award of the contract within 7 business days of the date the award notice is posted.
