605 HSPS 1,000 HP Motor Replacement for E.M. Johnson Water Treatment Plant

The City of Raleigh is seeking sealed bids for a 605 HSPS 1,000 HP Motor Replacement for the E.M. Johnson Water Treatment Plant. The contract will be awarded for a term of one-time purchase, subject to contract performance and annual appropriation by the Raleigh City Council. The successful bidder will be required to deliver the motor to the E.M. Johnson Water Treatment Plant, located at 10301 Falls of Neuse Road, Raleigh, North Carolina 27614. The motor must meet specific technical specifications, including a non-reverse ratchet rated at 100% of motor full load torque, a steady bushing, and a corrosion-resistant stainless steel screen over motor openings. The bidder must also provide shop drawings, photographs, and references. • The motor must be capable of being lifted in one piece and fully-assembled when shipped. • The motor must have external surfaces pretreated, primed, and painted in accordance with the manufacturer’s standard treatment. • The motor must have internal surfaces pretreated and primed in accordance with the manufacturer’s standard treatment. • The motor must have additional internal and external treatments for increased corrosion resistance. • The motor must be provided with a 120VAC motor space heater for condensation prevention. • The motor must be provided with resistance thermal detectors (RTDs) embedded in the stator windings and bearing RTDs. • The motor must be provided with three fully self-contained electronic vibration switches/sensors. • The motor must be provided with window-type current transformers for use as self-balancing differential protection of the motor.
