The Clemson University intends to enter into a sole source contract with Polytec Inc. for the procurement of a laser vibrometer system. The system is required for research purposes, specifically for highly accurate, low-level vibration measurements on architected mechanical structures and metamaterial samples. The system must have patented multi-path interferometry and reception diversity to ensure robust and reliable signal return. The contract amount is $145,305.00. • The system must be able to consistently deliver a superior signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and eliminate signal dropouts caused by challenging surface properties. • The system must be able to maintain measurement coherence across all surfaces, enabling the accurate resolution of low-amplitude vibration dynamics. • The system must allow for the cleanest raw data, industry-best SNR, and efficient measurement without surface treatment. • Polytec GmbH is the only manufacturer of this unique, patented technology, making it a sole source.
