Air Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) Replacement

The Hillsborough County Aviation Authority is seeking a Design-Build firm to provide professional design and construction services for the replacement of the Air Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) at Tampa International Airport. The project will be designed and constructed using the progressive Design-Build methodology. The existing ATCT facility was constructed in the early 1970s and is in need of replacement. The new ATCT will be located at Site 18C, which is approximately 40 feet west of the original proposed location, Site 18A. The project is expected to be completed by March 1, 2029, ahead of the opening of Airside D in May 2029. The Authority is looking for a firm with experience in designing and constructing comparable projects of similar scope and complexity. Key aspects of the project include: • Design and construction of the new ATCT facility • Replacement of the existing ATCT facility • Compliance with FAA requirements and regulations • Coordination with stakeholders, including the FAA and airport personnel • Management of personnel in multiple locations • Development and control of design and construction costs • Provision of quality control services throughout the project • Compliance with the Authority's requirements and regulations
