The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking legal services from an attorney(s) with significant immigration law experience to provide legal advice and assistance to the Department in the J-1 Visa Waiver and H1-B Visa processes. The selected vendor will be responsible for ensuring that state and federal applications, with all required documentation, are completed and for providing services necessary to ensure successful applications. Services will be on an as-needed basis, when facilities are recruiting a potential job candidate who is a foreign medical graduate with interest in pursuing the J-1 Visa Waiver. The scope of work includes tasks such as completing and submitting all Conrad 30 J-1 Visa Waiver and H-1B immigration applications, providing documented approval of immigration applications, and offering introductory training at the request of the Agency. Some key points to consider are: • The contract term is for three years, with the option to renew for two additional one-year terms. • The vendor must have expertise in immigration law and be able to provide timely, accurate, and cost-efficient legal guidance. • The vendor must be able to manage the entire application process, including collecting required documentation, preparing and completing applications, and communicating with authorities. • The vendor must be able to provide training for DHHS staff on compliance and immigration procedures. • The vendor must be able to provide a written plan outlining the step-by-step approach for managing the immigration and visa application process. • The vendor must be able to provide a standardized checklist of all required applicant and hiring division documents. • The vendor must be able to provide fully prepared and completed Conrad 30 J-1 Visa Waiver and/or H-1B Visa application packets.
