The selected consultant will support the City in carrying out various tasks, including vision zero commitment and oversight, comprehensive safety analysis, corridor-level countermeasure analysis, public and stakeholder engagement, regional coordination, policy evaluation, project prioritization, and supplemental planning tasks. The project aims to eliminate roadway fatalities and serious injuries by developing strategies, engaging stakeholders, analyzing data, and identifying safety priorities. The key tasks include: • Developing a comprehensive Vision Zero Safety Action Plan • Conducting a data-driven analysis of crash trends • Identifying evidence-based countermeasures tied directly to crash patterns and risk factors • Developing concept-level design recommendations for key corridors • Providing planning-level cost estimates and feasibility considerations • Ensuring all recommendations align with the Safe System Approach and best practices The project has a budget and funding allocated through a federal grant program, and the selected consultant will be required to comply with all applicable requirements under 2 CFR Part 200 and USDOT's 2024 Safe Streets and Roads For All grant program.

Budget estimate

$500,000 – $2,000,000

The budget for this project is estimated to be between $500,000 and $2,000,000, based on the scope of work and the fact that it is a federal grant-funded project. The project involves developing a comprehensive Vision Zero Safety Action Plan and conducting supplemental safety planning activities, which may require significant resources and expertise. The estimated budget range is based on the assumption that the project will require a team of consultants with expertise in engineering, urban planning, and transportation planning, and that the project will involve significant data analysis, stakeholder engagement, and reporting requirements.
