Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking information from sources that may be capable of providing scientific complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) cameras suitable for high-sensitivity and high-speed absorption tomographic measurements across the ultraviolet to visible spectral region. The cameras will be used to produce three-dimensional profiles of precursor flow as part of an extensive data set for development and validation of digital twin models for atomic layer deposition (ALD) processes. • The required cameras must have a back-illuminated, scientific CMOS sensor with a size of at least 14 mm by 14 mm and a pixel format of at least 2500 pixels by 2500 pixels. • The cameras should have a global shutter architecture, a full well capacity of at least 7,000 electrons, and a sensor readout noise of less than or equal to 2 electrons (root mean square). • The cameras must be capable of high frame rates, with a frame readout rate of at least 100 frames per second. • The cameras should have a quantum efficiency of at least 25% at 200 nm, 50% at 300 nm, 50% at 400 nm, 70% at 500 nm, 60% at 600 nm, and 40% at 700 nm. • The cameras must have a minimum operating temperature of less than or equal to -10 degrees C and be designed with a C-mount optical mount.

Budget estimate

$20,000 – $100,000

Given the context of the notice, which involves the procurement of two scientific CMOS cameras, the budget can be estimated based on the cost of similar equipment. High-end scientific CMOS cameras can cost anywhere from $10,000 to $50,000 or more, depending on the specifications and features. Considering that NIST is looking for two cameras with specific requirements, the total cost could be in the range of $20,000 to $100,000 or more. The factors that may influence the likely payment range include the brand and model of the cameras, the specifications and features of the cameras, and the vendor or supplier of the cameras.
