Description
The Department of State Hospitals (DSH) is seeking bids for a contractor to provide Scrap Metal Pickup and Recycling Services. The contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary materials, supplies, tools, equipment, transportation, licenses, certifications, permits, insurance, and personnel to perform the services. The services will be provided on an as-needed basis to assist DSH in diverting scrap metal materials from landfill disposal, in accordance with applicable local, State, and Federal regulations. The contractor will be required to reimburse DSH a percentage of the revenue generated from the sale of the scrap metal. The term of the agreement is anticipated to be from March 20, 2026, to March 19, 2029.
Some key points to consider:
• The contractor must have a Motor Carrier Permit issued by the California Department of Motor Vehicles.
• The contractor must provide proof of liability insurance with limits of not less than $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate for bodily injury and property damage liability combined.
• The contractor must provide a list of two references from customers for whom the bidder has provided services of the same nature and type as those outlined in this solicitation.
• The contractor must agree to all security provisions where the performance of work takes place on any state hospital grounds.
• The contractor must comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards, including those related to environmental protection and worker safety.
