Scholarly Communication Support

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is seeking a scholarly communication librarian to provide expert advice and operational support in areas such as scholarly publishing, research integrity, copyright and licensing, open access, and public access to USDA-funded research. The contractor will manage the NAL Trusted Journal List program, the selection process for journals to be included in AGRICOLA, develop and deliver research integrity training, and report on the quality and impact of USDA research outputs. The contractor will work remotely or onsite at the National Agricultural Library in Beltsville, MD, as needed. • The contractor will evaluate journal requests for inclusion in the NAL Trusted Journal List and assess suitability against documented criteria. • The contractor will manage the selection process for journals to be included in AGRICOLA and develop and deliver research integrity training for stakeholders. • The contractor will report on the quality and impact of USDA research outputs and document criteria, procedures, workflows, and decisions for the above program areas. • The contractor will maintain comprehensive documentation of evaluations, workflows, and criteria revisions. • The contractor will ensure that all deliverables are error-free, aligned with standards, tested with stakeholders when applicable, and require minimal revision.
