The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is seeking applications for the Model-to-Clinic (M2C) for Precision Medicine with AI: Integrating Imaging with Multimodal Data (PRIMED-AI) program. The goal of this program is to develop innovative, reliable, and cost-effective AI-based tools that integrate clinical imaging with other health data types to enhance personalized medicine for patients with chronic and other health conditions. The program will use a biphasic mechanism to initially focus on rigorous AI model building through the retrospective analysis and testing of large, interoperable multimodal datasets, laying a robust foundation for improved diagnostic accuracy, prognostic prediction, or therapeutic guidance where current methods fall short.
• The program will support the development of AI-based clinical decision support (CDS) tools that integrate clinical imaging with other types of multimodal health data.
• The program will use a cooperative agreement (UG3/UH3) activity code.
• Applicants must submit a Data Management and Sharing Plan at the time of application.
• The program will require engagement with the Common Fund Data Ecosystem (CFDE) for dissemination of PRIMED-AI assets and resources.
• The program will have a focus on intellectual property rights, with award recipients being solely responsible for the timely acquisition of all appropriate proprietary rights.
