The facilities must provide a minimum of 20 rooms per night, with 8 one-bedroom hotel suites and 2 rooms meeting wheelchair accessibility standards. The contractor will be responsible for monitoring hotels for compliance with safety and health regulations and providing a point of contact for contract management. Some key features of the required lodging facilities include:
• Fully equipped kitchen, microwave, stove, and refrigerator
• One queen bed with a pull-out couch, pillow, two sheets, firm mattress, and blankets
• Wall switch near the entrance door for at least one lamp, incandescent table or wall-mounted lights for each bed
• Color TV, closet or hangar space, smoke detectors, individual thermostats, telephone, and note pad with pen
• Bathrooms with vanity, mirror, light with grounded electrical outlet, and exhaust fan/privacy outside window
• Exercise room, internet/Wi-Fi access at no additional cost, pet-friendly, and free breakfast
• Multiple daily round-trip shuttle services to transport veterans and caregivers between the airport, VA Medical Center, and other locations
