Childcare Center Operator

Eastern Washington University is soliciting proposals from qualified firms to operate, manage, and staff the university’s on‑campus childcare center located in Cheney, WA. The contractor will provide full‑service, licensed childcare for infants through school‑age children, maintain compliance with Washington State licensing standards, and deliver affordable tuition options for EWU students. EWU will provide the facility rent‑free along with utilities, custodial services, internet, and grounds maintenance; the contractor assumes all other operating costs, staffing, insurance, and program delivery responsibilities. The contract is a 5‑year lease beginning 1 July 2027, with potential extensions up to a total of 10 years. • Operate a 12‑classroom, 14,284 sq ft center serving up to 164 children (licensed capacity). • Provide licensed staff, curriculum, meals, health‑safety compliance, and student‑discount tuition models. • Assume all costs except rent, utilities, and custodial services; maintain required insurance coverage. • Transition from current YMCA operator; optional continuation of ECEAP program.
