Liquid Helium Supply

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is seeking a reliable supplier of clean liquid helium to support the research goals of the labs within the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK). The vendor will be required to deliver liquid helium to several laboratories within NIDDK in 60- and 100-liter dewars. The liquid helium will be used to keep nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) superconducting magnets cool and operational for NMR research. The vendor must ensure that the liquid helium is clean enough to not clog in NMR magnets or transfer lines and that the dewars are safe to use around the magnets. • The vendor must deliver liquid helium in 60- and 100-liter dewars • The vendor must ensure that the liquid helium is clean enough to not clog in NMR magnets or transfer lines • The vendor must ensure that the dewars are safe to use around the magnets • The vendor must deliver liquid helium with a minimum purity of 99.998% • The vendor must provide dewars with non-magnetic construction and wheels • The vendor must provide dewars with valves that open and close easily and seal completely
