Description
The City of Birmingham seeks a single, qualified health‑care provider to deliver a full suite of medical, dental, mental‑health, pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, emergency‑ambulance, and related services to inmates at the Birmingham City Jail. The provider must staff 24 × 7 nursing, conduct regular physician and psychiatrist visits, manage intake screenings, emergency care, specialty referrals, prenatal and dialysis coordination, and all associated administrative functions while complying with HIPAA, security clearances, and city insurance requirements.
• Comprehensive intake (medical, dental, mental‑health) screenings for every newly booked inmate.
• Ongoing care including 24‑hour nursing, ≥ 3 physician visits/week, ≥ 1 psychiatrist visit/week, and on‑site emergency response.
• Coordination of hospitalization, specialty‑care, prenatal, dialysis, pharmacy, lab, radiology, and ambulance services, plus full record‑keeping and waste disposal.
• Staffing requirements: 24 × 7 nursing (1 day, 2 evening, 2 morning shifts), regular physician/psychiatrist visits, and a licensed dentist for full dental services.
• All services must be delivered under a sole‑source, fixed‑price contract for up to three years, with no price increases after award.
