Description
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is soliciting a contractor to prepare the site and execute a full demolition‑renovation for the Choice Dining Equipment area at its Wichita, KS medical facility (5500 E Kellogg Ave). The work includes complete removal of existing kitchen equipment, casework, wall finishes, ceilings, flooring, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, followed by new construction to accommodate updated dining equipment, fire‑rated partitions, acoustic treatment, and fully sprinklered spaces. The contractor must coordinate all trades, verify existing conditions, protect VA assets, manage waste disposal, and ensure compliance with fire‑rating, acoustic (STC), and life‑safety requirements.
• Demolition of existing kitchen, lockers, walls, doors, windows, ceilings, and related MEP components.
• Installation of new mechanical, electrical, and plumbing infrastructure per updated MEP drawings.
• Construction of fire‑rated (1‑hour, 2‑hour) partitions, acoustic walls, and smoke‑tight corridors.
• Installation of new flooring, wall finishes, ceiling systems, and lighting controls (vacancy sensors, daylight harvesting).
• Coordination of all VA‑owned equipment removal, salvage, and re‑installation.
• Provision of temporary fire‑rated dust barriers, site safety measures, and waste removal to approved dumpsters.
• Full compliance with VA construction standards, fire protection, and accessibility requirements.
